Amy Winehouse’s second studio album, Back to Black, was released in 2006 and won Best Pop Vocal Album at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. It was also nominated for Album of the Year and Winehouse won four additional awards that evening. Her single Back to Black was one of five hit singles from that album.

In 2013, the single Back to Black, was performed by Beyonce’ and Andre’ 3000 on the soundtrack The Great Gatsby: Music from Baz Luhrmann’s Film. The slower and haunting version was the last song added by executive producer Jay-Z to bring a sultry element to the album.
Released last year, the film Amy tells the story of Winehouse in all its candid, tragic glory. Despite only two albums to her name, Amy Winehouse is one of the most popular British icons in music history.
Here, we pay tribute to the smoky allure of Winehouse’s music and lyrics and the beauty of black as a deep, magnetic force and fashion aesthetic. Our edit includes Bow Cut, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, and more… .
